Self-cleaning litter box

Scooping is somebody else’s job now.

After your cat steps off the tray, the drum turns, sifts the clumps into a sealed 8-litre drawer and leaves clean litter behind. You empty a drawer about once a week instead of scooping twice a day.

The smarter way to keep a tray clean

  • Cleans itself after every visitThe drum turns once your cat steps off and sifts the clumps out, so the tray is fresh for the next cat.
  • Enclosed waste drawerClumps drop into a sealed 8-litre drawer below. Pull it out, empty it, slide it back — the smell stays shut inside.
  • Auto-refill hopperHolds a reserve of clean litter and tops the tray up for you after a cycle.
  • Three layers of safetyA touch-sensitive pedal, an instant stop and a mechanical limit, each backing up the one before it.
  • Room for up to four catsA 31.5 cm entrance and a tray wide enough for a large adult cat to turn around in.
  • Buttons, not appsNo Wi-Fi, no account, no phone in the bathroom. Press Clean when you want a cycle on demand.

Built around your cat’s safety

The tray knows when your cat is on it

A pedal under the tray senses your cat’s weight and holds the cycle until they have stepped off and the coast is clear.

Anything that interrupts it stops it

If something meets the drum mid-cycle, it stops on the spot rather than pushing through, and returns to its resting position.

A physical backstop behind the sensors

A mechanical safety limit sits behind the electronics, so a cycle cannot force its way through resistance even if a sensor is covered in dust.

Sized for cats, not kittens

Suitable for cats six months and older weighing at least 3 lb (1.36 kg). Kittens, elderly cats and cats with mobility problems are better with a standard open tray.

A better way to care for cats

Features of the self-cleaning litter box: auto-refill hopper, self-cleaning system and easy-empty waste drawer

Fresh litter, automatically

The hopper keeps a reserve and tops the tray up, so it is ready for the next visit without you lifting a bag.

Sealed away, not scooped

Clumps drop into the enclosed drawer underneath and stay shut in until you choose to empty it.

Raised to a kinder height

The stand lifts the entrance off the floor and keeps the space underneath clear and easy to sweep.

Litter-Trapping Mat

Finish the job

The litter that does escape lands on the mat

Granules that leave on your cat’s paws drop through the honeycomb top layer and collect underneath, instead of travelling down the hall. Lift the open side and tip them back into the tray.

Questions, answered

Setting it up

How do I set it up?

Attach the four legs — no tools needed — fill the tray with clumping clay litter to the marked line, top up the hopper and plug it in. It takes about ten minutes.

What litter should I use?

Clumping mineral or bentonite clay litter. The sifting mechanism needs firm clumps, so tofu and crystal litters will not work in this box.

Where should I put it?

Where the old tray was, within reach of a socket. Leave the old tray alongside for the first week so your cat can choose, and let them explore the new box switched off before you plug it in.

Living with it

Will my cat actually use it?

Most cats adapt within a few days. Put it where the old tray was, keep that tray nearby at first, and supervise the first few cycles while your cat gets used to the sound.

How many cats can share it?

It suits households with up to four cats. The entrance is 31.5 cm high and the tray is wide enough for a large adult cat to turn around in.

Does it need an app or Wi-Fi?

No. Everything is controlled with buttons on the unit, including a Clean button that starts a cycle whenever you want one. There is no account to make and nothing to connect.

Cleaning it

How often do I empty it?

The enclosed drawer holds 8 litres — around a week of waste for one cat. Multi-cat homes will empty it more often. Pull the drawer out, empty it and slide it back.

How do I clean the box itself?

Wipe the drum and bin with warm, soapy water every few weeks — no harsh chemicals. Keep the sensors and pedal clear of litter dust, and unplug the unit before a deep clean.

What does the auto-refill hopper do?

It holds a reserve of clean litter and tops the tray up after a cycle, so you refill the hopper occasionally instead of topping up the tray by hand every time.

Warranty & delivery

What warranty does it come with?

A 24-month warranty. If something goes wrong, email hello@tailwell.us with your order number and a description of the fault and we will sort out a repair or a replacement.

How long does delivery take?

It ships from our partner warehouse with tracking, and usually arrives in 7–15 business days. Shipping is free on orders over $49.

What if I change my mind?

Send it back within 30 days, unused and in its original packaging, and we will refund it. You cover the return shipping. Anything that arrives damaged is replaced or refunded without a return.
